“Doubled Body” (2009)

A human figure was created where mother and child (the bearer and the born), and the living and the dying were condensed into one body. Flowers were symbolically equated with the pregnant maternal body, and this flowery body was lit with flame. These representations were engaged in the ideal relatedness itself. Thus the identification of life with death was represented in this composition, photographed in a studio. Used as an official poster of the congress of the Japanese Clinical Drawing with the theme: “Clinical Drawing of Life and Death”.
